small-scale dairy farms in
Garas-balley village (Hodan
District, Benadir Region),
with emphasis on dairy
cattle disease control. This
includes identifying endo
and ectoparasites that may
cause decrease or loss in
animal production and
productivity in the
concerned farms.
Prescription of the right
veterinary drugs for the
elimination of the
identified causal agents was
indicated and best results
were obtained.

Budgeting and assessments of
costs of different cropping
systems as means of checking
field officers who were

The farm had a dairy cattle
component of over a 100
heads. The whole management
in terms of animal handling,
feeding, veterinary
services, improvement in
production and productivity,
marketing of the products
were included in the
functions.
