MOGADISHU (Somaliguardian) – A court in northern Somalia’s break-away region of Somaliland on Tuesday sentenced journalist Busharo Ali Bandey, whose three-months long detention sparked public outcry, to a one year jail term.
The ruling came weeks after elders and members of her family urged authorities to ensure her immediate release, with some accusing the son of the incumbent President Muse Bihi Abdi of being behind her arrest.
